Replacement parts

Most doors are worth saving. Some are not, and we will tell you which.

We carry brand new parts for all makes and models, including doors we did not sell you. The useful conversation is whether the part is the right spend.

Chapter 01

Where the line between repair and replace actually falls

A single failed part on an otherwise sound door is almost always worth replacing. Springs, cables, rollers, hinges, drums and a bent section of track are all ordinary parts with ordinary prices, and fitting them returns the door to full service.

The picture changes when the door itself is the problem. Multiple cracked or bowed panels, rust through the bottom section, or a door that has been out of balance long enough to have chewed through hardware repeatedly, are all signs that money spent on parts is money spent on a door that will be back.

The other honest case for replacement is insulation. If the garage is attached and there is living space above it, an uninsulated door is a running cost, and that is worth weighing against a repair bill on a door that is already old.

Parts for doors we did not sell

We stock and source brand new parts for all makes and models. You do not need to know the manufacturer, and you do not need to have bought the door from us. A photograph of the door from inside the garage, and of the label on the opener or the spring, is usually enough to identify what is needed.

Doors we install include Amarr, Hormann, Wayne Dalton and Clopay, and we service LiftMaster and Genie openers, but the parts side is deliberately not limited to those names.

The same door styles we install are available as replacements: aluminium, carriage house, composite, decorative, insulated steel, overhead, roll up, sectional and swing.

Chapter 03

If you already have a quote

Bring it. If our original price does not already beat an estimate you have been given, we will meet it. That applies to parts and to whole door replacements, and it is a standing offer rather than a promotion.

What we will not do is match a price by quietly fitting a lighter spring or a thinner gauge of track. If matching a number means changing the specification, you will be told exactly what changed and why.

Estimates are free, by phone or through the form, and the labour carries the same one year warranty as everything else we do.
